Collage comes from the French word "coller" which means to paste or stick. A collage is a picture made by applying different materials to a flat surface. Using odds and ends from around the house makes collages economical and fun. Work with materials that vary in texture and pattern such as rough (burlap, netting, bark) smooth (paper, cloth) and soft (fur, feathers, cotton balls, velvet).
