2008 Soap Box Derby

Akron, OH – Malco takes pride in the fact that they reside in a city adjacent to Akron, OH, home of the All-American Soap Box Derby. To celebrate this we sponsored the race with a monetary donation as well as a gift bag for all of the racers. There were over 500 racers this year and all received Cherry Flash, Ultra Violet, Aqua Bead, Nano Glass Cleaner, Hand Cleaner and Windshield Concentrate. The 2008 race was the 71st annual event, racers from 43 states, ages 8 through 17 traveled to Akron to compete for scholarships and merchandise prizes. The cars are purchased as kits from the Soap Box Derby and are fiberglass shells as opposed to the wooden soap boxes used when the sport got its name.
